Where has the time gone?

My little guy is 11 months old today.....11 months!  Wow!  It seems this 11 month milestone has hit me harder than all the others...maybe it is because in just 4 weeks he will be one year old!  One year!  Wow!

The past eleven months have indeed been the greatest of my life.  It has been so exciting to see him grow and change everyday.  As I try to reflect on the new things he has learned in the last month, I am amazed.  The list is so long!

Payton,
Tonight you had Easy Mac, sliced banana, and yogurt for dinner.  What a change from the Stage 2 and 3 foods you were having just one month ago.  I know Easy Mac is not the most nutritional meal, but you loved it!  Usually, I make sure you have a veggie and a fruit with your main course.  You attempt to mimic everything we say.  Miss Cindy always has a list of the new words you have said and sometimes we laugh, but sometimes she is right!  Tonight as I gave you a goldfish, you said "fish!"  You love Bailey, or Bay-Bay as you now say.  Not to be confused with Baa-Baa for bottle.  You say Dada constantly.  Mama only comes when you are tired or sick.  We are trying SO hard to get you to take a sippy cup or drink from a straw.  Clearly, you have not read the baby books that insist you be off the bottle at 1 year....we've got to get moving!  Tonight you had 3 ounces of milk from the straw - progress!

When you play, you really play hard.  You will get behind any of your push toys and RUN with them - you are so fast and so steady.  One day you will take off alone - I know it will be soon.  You loves any type of ball - basketballs especially and you love to play with you basketball toy.  You throw the ball Miss Cindy gave you and, yes, to add another "B" word, you attempt to say ball.

Your personality continues to blossom.  I think this may be my favorite part of you.  Your dad and I saw a shirt that said "Aries:  Good Natured, Born to rock the boat."  This fits you to a T!  You are the BEST little guy in the world.  Even when you are sick, you barely fuss.  You are always happy and smiling and you love to laugh.  If we laugh, you laugh even harder.  Your best time is at night before bed.  You are finally starting to enjoy our bedtime routine of a story and prayers.  You only get your paci and lovey in your crib which has not been a problem.

You have learned to wave and to clap - which you do with such excitement.  You now nod your head "yes" and "no" and most times you are right!  You are strong willed and maybe a little stubborn. Though you don't have too many fits, when you do they are effective!  You love people and are always a crowd favorite!  At night, you are still my little baby - I still love to give you your bottle (which I'm trying to get rid of!!), snuggle with you, watch you giggle, read a book and a prayer, lay you down, and watch you fall right to sleep.  When I check on you at night, you usually have your butt right up in the air and I always comment on just how cute that is!

You are now starting to look and act like a toddler.
Plans are underway for your 1st birthday party!  I can't believe you will be such a big boy!  I cherish every little minute I get with you!  Thank you for being such an adorable little angel!

Love, Mommy

disePayton I think you are just as adorable as your mommy does! I only wish I could keep you and love you each day like I can Calyn and Carson. I need you to spend the night with me again since today I found my favorite Bible story book. It only seems like a few weeks ago we were waiting for you to arrive-where has the time gone! I am so excited that I will see you Saturday-a month is a long time to only see your picture and listen to you giggle on the phone. Love you and mommy and daddy!
