Friday January 23rd we made our first trip to the SC Aquarium in downtown Charleston. My family game us a year long pass to enjoy at the Aquarium. For our first visit, we met a few other babies and a few other mommies. Of course, we went with Lindsey and Ella, who Payton was happy to see once she arrived. We also met Charlotte and Lila and Mary Catherine and Annie. It was our first time meeting Annie - I think she and Payton had a little crush on each other!! They would laugh back and forth with each other...to cute! I was curious to see how Payton would react during our first trip. Occasionally, he was more interested than I thought he would be - laughing at a large group of fish; however, he was not as interested in the giant sea turtle as I had hoped he would be.
This is Payton staring down into the huge ocean water tank. We saw lots of fish and the scuba diving show in the tank. The babies enjoyed this spot across from the tank. They spent a little time looking and the fish and a lot of time crawling around with each other.
Payton's favorite bath toy is a small green turtle. It sounds crazy now, but I assumed that Payton would love seeing the huge sea turtle...and assumed he would some how make the connection between his tiny 2 1/2 inch long green plastic turtle and this beautiful creature. Well, maybe next time! For now, we'll keep practicing "turtle" every time we take a bath and play with the smaller version!
Payton and Ella get up close and personal with the fish in the ocean tank. We found a perfect spot for the babies to get right next to the glass and watch the fish swim in front of them. Payton even licked the glass! What germs?!?
