FUN-tastic Friday

When I was a 6th grader at Sherrills Ford Elementary we had FUN-tastic Fridays - a time where we would leave our regular teacher and do something more fun, or fantastic!

Now, as a mom, I have this same chance to have FUN on Fridays....and they are fantastic!  We are so blessed to have found Matt, Lindsey and Ella.  Moving to Charleston while pregnant made it more difficult to meet people.  Luckily, we have met a few incredible Moms and babies since Payton's arrival.  I must credit our infant massage class which led us to Lindsey and Ella, Charlotte and Lila, and Erin and Olivia (who we hope to see very soon!).  We are all fortunate enough to be home with out little angels on Fridays.  Lindsey and I have made it a point to try to get together with the babies to do something fun on Fridays.  Recently we have been able to see Charlotte and Lila as well.  We missed Mary Catherine and Annie this week.

This past Friday we had planned to go to Mt Pleasant Rec to swim.  After these plans fell through at the last minute we all ended up at Lindsey's.  Ella was so kind to share her playroom and her toys with us.  Lila was so kind to share her pacifier with us!  I don't remember Payton sharing anything!  We'll have to work on that!  After playing inside, we packed the babies up and headed to the playground.  The swings were the biggest hit - although Lila did eat a little sand and Payton did crawl in it briefly.  After a short stay on the playground, we packed up again and headed across the street to the neighborhood pizza place.  I'm sure the pizza guys would rather not see us again!  After borrowing one extra high chair from the "bar" next door (to make 3), asking them to heat up our Easy Mac, all 6 of us eating lunch together, and leaving a nice little mess on the floor, we packed up again and headed back to Lindsey's house.

When I say packed up, here is a good picture for you to have in your head:

One red wagon, one push toy, 3 moms, 3 babies, Cheerios, 1 jar of Gerber Graduates, a few lovies, 2 diaper bags, sippy cups and bottles, a camera, jackets which quickly came off, 3 containers of baby food and one pack of Easy Mac.

The babies were full (both their bellies and their diapers!), happy, and very tired!
It was a great day!

At 2 o'clock we finally headed back home.  As we headed home, I thought of the chores I had put off for the last 4 hours.  For one slight second, I felt guilty...but then I thought back to how great the last 4 hours had been...great for babies and great for mommies!  Every time we meet on Fridays we have a FANTASTIC time!  We are looking forward to many more play dates and many more mommies and babies in our future!
