Santa had a few late deliveries for Papaw Joe! Payton helped pass out the presents!
I HATE that we did not get to see Papaw Joe on Christmas Day but in the end, this was probably better for him. He was much more comfortable in his home and able to sit back and enjoy our visit for a few hours. He seemed to really enjoy our time together.
He gave Payton a fire truck and fire station. Payton loved it! I might be one of his favorite presents.
He immediately wanted it out of the box and played with it the entire time we were at Papaw's house. He has continued to play with it almost every day at home.
Owen got his 1st train and train station. He was really starting to sit up on his own while we were at Papaw Joe's house and enjoyed playing with the train set.
Papaw with his bag full of groceries! Exactly what he needs!
Papaw enjoyed holding Owen. Owen was so good and actually fell asleep while he was holding him. He got to hold him for about 10 minutes. Probably 9 minutes longer than he ever held Payton because was always wiggling and made him too nervous to hold him!
Payton didn't really cooperate with a smile...but I had to share this sweet picture of the boys with their great Grandfather.
Owen still snoozing in his arms! He must know that he is named after him...Owen "Calvin"
Payton...again...not the most agreeable for the camera but he pitched a fit to get in this picture with Mommy!
Although my grandpa can no longer drive, he still makes sure he gets several nice presents for everyone. He did a great job instructing my mom for the presents for the kids. Also, it is very special to me to still receive a yearly ornament from him. This is a tradition he and my Nannie Evelyn started for me as a child. She had started a UNC ornament for Chad and a Hummel ornament for me several years before she passed away. I love the fact that my Papaw still takes the time to order these ornaments for us. He also got Payton and Owen two special ornaments. These will always mean so much to me!
I hope I can still make sure people are having a great Christmas when I'm his age as well!
Merry Christmas Papaw! Sorry we missed spending Christmas Day with you...but it was more special this way! We love you!
