The 5th Annual White/Webb Family Christmas Celebration

Each year since Chad and I have been married we have used one weekend in December to invite both of our parents to our home for our own Christmas celebration.  I believe we have only missed one year - 2006 - because we were living in an apartment while waiting to close on our home in Chapel Hill (which we completely renovated and lived in for less than 6 months...but who is counting?).

This is the 3rd year they have all been able to join us here in Mt. Pleasant.  It is always a treat to have them here to see our home decorated, cook a nice big meal and do a few things around Charleston.

Owen is ready!  Ho ho ho!

This year, we all piled into the car (literally!) and headed to the James Island Holiday Festival of Lights for the 2nd time.  Aside from being a little cramped in the car, it was great.  I always love the lights and love to see Payton's reaction.  Owen was still a little young to react but did focus on the lights multiple times!

Owen is all bundled up and ready to go find Santa!
The Webb family 2010 - waiting for Santa - and wondering how well it might go this year - 2009 was NOT a success!

2010 was a big success!
Payton told Santa he wanted a computer for Christmas (don't worry, he was referring to the v-tech model available a Target - he doesn't want a MacBook..yet!).

We added Owen and it got even better!  How sweet are these two boys with Mr. Claus!  Payton was happy to tell Santa that Owen wanted a Choo Choo Train for Christmas!
Owen was fascinated with Santa!  He even got a big handful of Santa's hair and I had to pry it out of his hand!

On Saturday night we stayed home and enjoyed a yummy dinner complete with a homemade red velvet pound cake.   While I did the cooking, Meme and Grandma helped Payton make his very 1st Gingerbread House.

Side note: Grandma is working away while Meme and Payton appear to be sneaking and eating a few candies in the background!  Busted!
They pull it together when Grandma turns around and share a few with her so she can continue with her excellent decorating skills (She should enter the contest at the Grove Park Inn next year!).

Dinner is served!  Pork tenderloin, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, broccoli casserole and rolls.
I LOVE using my Christmas china and getting everyone seated around our dining room table.  It doesn't happen often but when it does it is always great!  Baby Owen is hiding back in the corner...but we're all there!  Next year we'll have to make room for one more chair at the table for Owen...or use one of our great Christmas gifts as a kids table!

Bailey and Owen got acquainted after dinner....

...it wouldn't be complete without a little lick!  Owen loves Bailey....possibly more than Payton did as a baby.
Our beautiful Christmas tree!
One sweet little boy enjoying all the sights and sounds!  He is definitely genetically related to my Mom....Payton NEVER bothered our Christmas tree.  He does seem to be touching the angel in this picture, but his slogan for the season was "Look but don't touch, you can only point!"  I love it!  Like my Mom, I LOVE my Christmas tree and I have lots of breakable, sentimental ornaments on my tree each year.  I would be very upset if some of them were broken - especially those that have been given to me by my grandparents over the years - and Payton already seems to understand this.  I joke with my Mom that I was never allowed to touch her tree...this isn't really true...but if you saw her tree in person, you wouldn't want your children touching it either - it is the most beautiful tree but very fragile!  I'm so happy I don't have to worry with Payton touching her tree...Owen will probably be an entirely different story!

The finished product - Payton's very 1st Gingerbread House!  We're going to attempt to keep this for next year!

Clyde, our Elf on the Shelf, looking over each of us as we enjoy our time together.  Clyde was a big hit in our house this year.  We were all sad to see him return to the North Pole on Christmas Day.  We'll be ready to have him return in November!
