"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6
Christmas morning has arrived! We did our best to teach Payton and Owen the real Christmas story this year and I think we did a good job. It will get more difficult in the years to come but this season was a success. As I said in a previous post, we will also celebrate with Christmas gifts and Santa. So, in addition to remembering the birth of baby Jesus and celebrating his birthday, we were blessed with gifts on Christmas morning!
Santa stopped at Meme's house! The reindeer food must have worked because he knew exactly where to find Payton and Owen!
He left a great play tent for Payton and Owen! Payton was excited as soon as he saw it! We think this will be perfect in our bonus room for both the boys to play in once Owen starts crawling and walking.
Merry Christmas baby Owen! It's your first Christmas morning! How exciting!
Payton and Owen in their new tent!
Payton opened his stocking and then moved on to help Owen find his goodies from Santa. They both got some great new pajamas!
After finding our gifts from Santa, we all got ready to go to Mawmaw's for Christmas breakfast. Chad's Mom's family celebrates with breakfast and gift giving on Christmas morning. Payton and Owen both got more great toys and a little cash for their college funds. Owen has a great new ABC ball that Mommy really likes and Payton got a great Buzz outfit. Mom and Dad got several handmade things that are perfect in our home!
**Shockingly, in all the excitement, I FORGOT my camera...gasp...hopefully I'll get a few pictures from other family members to post in a few days**
From Mawmaw's, we headed over to Carlton and Darlene's to celebrate with the Webb's.
Payton and Owen both got lots of presents there as well! I must say, I do hate for ALL of them to buy presents for each of them but they got some really great toys! Payton did get a second computer but I'm actually happy about that because one is going to be used in the car for our many road trips! As far as kids computers go, they are very different! He got an over-the-door travel basketball hoop with balls...of course this was a huge hit! He also got a great Lightening McQueen car that he has been playing with everyday. Owen got a computer too...it's a big computer party here at nights! One of my most favorite gifts to Owen is a stuffed dog, Scout. The toy is able to be customized and it now says Owen's name. We use it each night as Owen drifts off to sleep.
Dalton is teaching Payton all about his new laptop!
My sweet Santa baby slept right though all the commotion...and the entire stop at Carlton and Darlene's! It was his typical nap time so he just stuck to his normal schedule! He does enjoy the gifts though!
Oh, yes, all the commotion....and as much as I realize our schedule is crazy...as I sit here typing and looking at these pictures I am reminded once again why it is we do what we do...FAMILY! We would be so bored sitting at home in Mt. P, alone, on Christmas day without ALL of our family members who we share Christmas day with each year!
From the Webb gathering, we headed back to load up....the snow was starting to fall and we were supposed to be heading on to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
