Owen's 1st Big Boy Bath

This wasn't actually planned....Owen had one of his wonderful massive poops and he needed a bath, STAT!  The closest spot was Payton's bathroom (now, I guess that is Payton and Owen's bathroom).  As I quickly gathered supplies and got Owen into the bath, Payton was getting more and more excited.  In fact, Payton rarely takes baths now - he likes to take a shower with Chad in the mornings - but, once Owen got in the bathtub, he HAD to get in there with him! So, before I knew I could blink, I had 2 boys in the big boy bathtub.  

You may remember (I think I had an earlier post about this) that I attempted to give the 2 of them a bath together one night when Chad was out of town.  Owen was only a few weeks old and they both needed a bath.  I placed Owen's baby bathtub into Payton's bathtub and filled it with water.  Payton was in the tub and I was continuing to get Owen ready to put in the tub....at which point I heard a a lot of banging and splashing...Payton had THROWN Owen's baby tub out of "HIS" bathtub.  This was in the midst of our wonderful temper tantrum phase and of course, a nice tantrum followed.  After that event, I wasn't sure Payton would ever "allow" Owen to share his tub (or anything for that matter!) with him.  

As you can imagine, I was pleasantly surprised, and happy to give an extra bath, when I saw how excited Payton was to share his big boy bathtub with Owen.  Now that Owen is able to sit up without assistance and Payton is loving his interactions with Owen, we will probably start having a lot more combined bath nights!  

Owen already loves the water and loves to make big splashes.  I can't wait to see them this summer.  Payton is going to love the water this summer (he was just talking about our pool slide yesterday) and I can't wait to have Owen join us in the pool in the crab float!
