Day 1

I thought about several things to write about.  We had a second showing at our house.  I'm still waiting to hear more about my possible job.  I signed Owen up for t-ball.  The YMCA was packed!  I asked Payton how his day was...he had fun in PE, his favorite part of the day was PE, he learned about PE.  Not shocking that he loves PE but it can't be the answer to everything!!

This afternoon, I read this article - Precious Memories - about legendary coach Dean Smith.  Read it.  It is definitely worth your time.

I am a Carolina fan for many reasons - Tar Heel born, Tar Heel bred.  No matter how old I am or how many coaches the Heels rotate through in my life, there will never be another Dean Smith.

I used to joke that my "greatest of all" list went in this order....#1 - God.  #2 - Dean Smith.  That might be a stretch...but, he is a big deal.  These days, every article written brings tears to my eyes.  Every time I see his face and hear his voice on the video boards in the Dean Dome, I get a few tears in my eyes.

The greatest of all time....Dean Smith.

Tonight, the boys were watching youtube videos of Michael Jordan.  We discussed that he was the greatest player of all time.  I asked Payton if he knew the greatest coach of all time.  Without missing a beat, he responded, "Dean Smith."
