February 2014...a look back in pictures

Looking back through pictures I realized I had snapped a few great ones that haven't been shared...these are all from mid-February.  Enjoy!

On February 10th, we finally let Sawyer have his first taste of baby food...as you can see, he was not interested!  Clearly, he was not a fan of bananas!  With his obvious dislike, I thought I would just put the food away and wait another week to try; however, the next night, I pulled it back out and he finished off the entire container.  He's been trying lots of different foods over the past few weeks.  Still not a fan of green beans but we are working on it!

On this night, we let Sawyer sit in his seat while we did the dishes....apparently, we were boring...he fell asleep in his chair!

This year in school, Payton has been working on reading and writing.  He has just over 20 students in his class.  For his valentines, he had to read the list and write out each classmates name.  He did a great job!  It is so fun to watch him learn!

Little brother Owen enjoyed playing with his car track while Payton worked on his Valentines.  When his brain isn't focused on sports (which it is 90% of the time), he loves to play with his cars.  If the stars align just perfectly, he will get lost in his own little world and play with cars for hours.

 Payton's completed Valentine treats

It was a good thing we got the Valentine's finished and sent in to school a few days early because the snow storm interrupted their original Valentine party.

This snow storm was huge...it dumped over a foot of snow on us and made a beautiful winter wonderland.  The picture of my boys cracks me up...I insisted they let me get a picture...it's hilarious because you can barely even see their faces!  There is a snowman in the background too but the white out conditions make him hard to find!

The snow was beautiful but after being snowed in for more than a day, I was going a little crazy...I need to be out and about!  The kids had a great time playing in this snow, especially after we made our way over to Meme and Pawpaw's house - snow is always more fun with cousins!

That picture of Chad and the boys remind me so much of many years ago when we had a big snow! Daddy went out to almost that same spot and built us a snowman. I was sick and could not go out. Cathy and Betsy might have helped him. But finally Mother bundled me up and Daddy carried me out, held me and Cathy and Betsy stood there by the snow man so Mother could get a picture. At almost the exact spot they are in! Funny..guess that is the place for snow pictures with your Dad
