We had a wonderful weekend in Chapel Hill. We arrived late Thursday night at Kade's house. Even though it was late, Eric still came over to play with Payton. We moved Kade's furniture, spread out a blanket and let Payton "crawl" around for them to see. Payton loves Eric and Kade....equally! Friday morning we were up and ready for our first trip to Franklin Street. There was already a certain excitement in the air as students and visitors awaited the big game. We met Eric on Franklin Street and found Payton a few very cute Tarheel outfits. He now has a new football outfit and basketball outfit - complete with jersey, shirts, and warm-up. Apparently, Payton's favorite players are Brooks Foster for football and Marcus Ginyard for basketball...quality choices! After doing a little shopping, we had lunch at Sutton's.
Following lunch, Payton had his first campus tour. We skipped the academic buildings but made sure to snap some pictures at the Old Well and the Davie Poplar (where Chad and I were engaged).
It was so wonderful to spend a nice fall day on campus. Chapel Hill and Charleston both have their own, very different perks but there is just no place like "blue heaven." I could have stayed there all day!
After spending some time in Chapel Hill, we spent the afternoon with Jonathon and Hilary at Kade's house. Payton showed off his "crawling" for both of them and enjoyed playing with his first basketball...a new toy from Franklin Street. He made sure to show Hilary all of his favorite Tarheel items.
We spent time with Holly and Jenny and Daniel at Top of the Hill Friday night. It was Holly's first time meeting Payton. She even got to assit with a lovely diaper change in the bathroom. She's getting prepared! It was great to see them and we really appreciate Holly driving up to see us!
