Tarheel Born and Bred!
After a wonderful morning, we finally headed up the hill to Kenan for UNC vs. Notre Dame. Chad strapped Payton on his chest and carried him up the hill - it is not quick walk and I'm sure it was not an easy one with Payton's added weight! Chad was a little sweaty once we made it to the seats. It was a whole new environment prior to the game...seats were full, fans were cheering...it was great! Payton seemed to love all the noise and action, even the fireworks! He was very busy taking in all the new sights and sounds. He took one nap during the game on my lap...must have been when we were losing, he didn't want to see that!
Payton waits for the Heels to take the field!

The game was more interesting than the picture with Mom!

Kade, Payton and Chad watching the Heels!

Visiting Jenny and Daniel at the half. Payton is smiling at his friend Daniel!

The family in Kenan.

Payton knows the Heels have won the game! Luckily, nobody dropped him in all the excitement!

Fireworks for the big win! We beat Notre Dame 29 to 24 and move to 5-1 for the season. Great first game for Payton!

After the game, we had a babysitter for Payton at Kade's house. He was so tired he fell asleep in the car before we made it there. We were planning to have a nice night out with our friends after the game but we were truly exhausted! It was so great to be in Chapel Hill for the weekend and to see everyone. Most of all, it was a wonderful experience to take Payton to campus and to his first football game. I know he will not remember it, but I know he loved all the excitement of the day....he smiled all day long! One day, he will look back on the pictures and may even be jealous of that little baby in the locker room....not too many kids get such an opportunity! I hate that we won't be able to make it to another football game this season. Payton will be wearing his game gear here in Charleston each Saturday for the remainder of the season...and maybe to a bowl game!! We hope the Heels keep it in the W column this weekend against Virginia.

To all our friends in Chapel Hill, thanks for a wonderful weekend! Go Heels!
