He's a Mover!

Payton has officially learned to crawl! He now understands he has to move his arms and his legs...and when he does, he's on the move!

We knew that he would be crawling soon and we hoped Chad would make it back from Vegas in time to see it...Payton had other plans! On Thursday night I put him on the floor so I could get his food ready. Instead, I found myself sprinting for the camera. Before I could get back he had moved several feet across the floor. You can see in the picture below that he has learned to pick his hand up. A few days ago, he didn't get this concept and moved like a worm!

I didn't let him crawl for very long because I wanted Chad to see it once he got home. Instead, I sat Payton in his Bebe Pod chair and we read some very interesting animal books.

Payton still has his cough, runny nose and occasional low grade fever. Chad and I have it too. I'm hoping it will wear off soon. Other than being a little more fussy and sleeping a little longer you would never know Payton is feeling bad!

Payton has continued saying "da da da da" all week, occasionally throwing in some different sounds. His laugh has changed to a "ha ha" instead of a cackle. His smile is bigger I think! On Wednesday night, I taught him to wave....a pageant wave!!...I can't seem to get him to do it for Chad. He has now had peaches, which he loves, and he reaffirmed that he does not like sweet peas. We will keep trying...he's not allowed to be a picky eater! I squeeze them in between bites of his favorites! Today he had stage 2 banana peach mixture. Stage 2! He'll soon be moving to stage 3 and finger foods!

I can't believe my little baby has changed so much in such a short time! Chad has come home to a different baby than the one he left here on Monday morning! I can no longer put him in his bouncy seat while I get ready - he is nearly able to flip out of it and scares me to death! I tried his crib today, filled it with toys, went back to check on him and he quickly, and easily pulled up on his knees and then promptly to his feet in a standing position. I didn't give him time to show me anymore of his new talents. I gave up! I will have to find an alternate way to shower I guess! His highchair is a useful containment tool right now but I think that would be out of place in the bathroom! I'm going to attempt to get my Halloween decorations out before the appeal of the highchair wears off!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend. The Dodgers lost, so we'll be able to put more energy into the Heels who will be playing Virginia (haven't won in VA since 1981!) at 3:30 tomorrow. Payton will be wearing his game gear! Go Heels!
