Wow! Where has the time gone? With the holidays, work, holiday parties, packing, and driving I didn't seem to find the time to update the blog...again! Don't worry, this is not a trend! I'm going to get back into my routine.
What did the Webb family do in the month of December? A LOT!
Decorating for Christmas was actually a lot of fun this year. Each day I would add a few new things and each morning Payton was so excited to see what he could find. He was most excited about the Christmas tree, turning the Christmas lights on, Santa and the reindeer, and Frosty the snowman. He liked to pretend he heard the reindeer on the roof!
We told everyone about the baby on the way - including our coworkers!
We had a small dinner party with friends and 3 toddlers the 1st weekend in December. It was a lot of fun. I can't imagine what it will be like as we begin to add our second round of children.
Lindsey, Matt and Ella; Charlotte, Liston and Lila; and Andrew and Laura joined us for dinner and night of new friendships and fun!
The following weekend both of our parents joined us for our family Christmas. We had a great weekend with Meme and Pawpaw and Grandma and Grandpa.
Friday night, we fought the cold temperature and went to see the Christmas lights at James Island County Park. Payton loved all the lights. He got so excited that he would beat on the dash! We also attempted to see Santa.
Payton was scared of Santa.
We never got a Santa picture from this year. I was very upset about that at first but I did my best! As you can see, it just wasn't going to happen! Luckily, Mrs. Claus wasn't nearly as scary!
We followed up with dinner at California Dreaming. Saturday we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom and had a nice meal at home on Saturday night with a delicious 5 flavor pound cake.
Meme and Pawpaw brought an early Christmas prize.
Payton was very excited about his new Mickey Mouse ball.
On Sunday we braved the pouring rain and all 7 of us headed to church. It was great to have our families see our church at Christmas...despite the rain!
After their visit, we had one last week to finish up our Christmas shopping and get packed up for the holidays. We enjoyed our last week at home before the Christmas rush and tried to enjoy the little moments at home.
While I wrapped and sorted gifts, Payton played with Bailey...
...and Bailey dealt with Payton!
We squeezed in just enough time one night before bed to make Christmas cookies.
Payton was a little more interested in cutting these and decorating than the had been at Halloween.
Payton was very excited to find a package on our front porch with a "Go Heels" logo on the front. Eric sent us a package with a Carolina Basketball label - complete with an NC emblem. Payton immediately started saying "Go Heels!" Once we opened it, he was very excited about finding a new jersey inside the box. We immediately called Eric "Hoots" to say thanks.
Now, weeks later, Payton continues to call his new jersey his "Thank You Hoots Shirt!" Pretty cute!
Unfortunately, we had a bad night on Tuesday - Payton was sick and threw up in the car and in his car seat. Chad was in Florence and I had a big mess! Payton threw for the 3rd time and Chad headed home. Chad took Payton to the doctor that Wednesday and we found out he had an ear infection that had caused a vertigo-like experience that had caused the very messy, very scary, projectile vomiting. He started antibiotics but continued with a cough, green snot, occasional low grade fever, and congestion for the next two weeks.
Our week quickly came to a close and we started the process of packing...and a process it is!
