On Saturday morning we finally got the okay from my doctor and from Owen's doctor to be discharged and head home! Woo hoo! I am thankful we made the decision to stay Friday night because my pain was much better controlled on Saturday and Owen's weight had started to increase again but I was more than ready start getting settled at home!
I started getting Owen's going home outfit on him - a blue and white striped Polo outfit. Payton wanted to help at first but didn't make it too long - after he threw himself on the floor for a temper-trantrum we sent him back out to the lobby with Pawpaw!
All dressed up with no place to go! We had Owen dressed and ready but his nurse was tied up in a delivery and we had to wait on her to come finish one thing. While waiting, Owen loaded up his diaper with a nice big poop.
Daddy got to change him and get his outfit back on him!
We're outta there!
Chad had to get Owen in his car seat for the first time while Grandpa got Payton buckled up. Payton and Owen were riding side by side for the first time! I was anxious to see how this would go! It went well. Payton told Owen a few things on the way home and once we started to get close to our house he started showing him where we live!
We were surprised to find this BIG baby waiting for us in our front yard. The little bear in the front has Owen's name on it...it was very cute and our neighbors enjoyed it as well. Payton kept saying "there's a baby in our yard!"
Home Sweet Home!
Welcome home Owen!
Payton shows off his Big Brother T-Shirt. He was very happy to have Owen at home. I think it was finally starting to make sense to him no that Owen was finally coming to "his" house.
Owen tried out his new bassinet for the 1st time - he seemed to like it!
Payton got to hold Owen for the 1st time - he seem to like holding him! He gave him a great big welcome home kiss as well.
A little later, Bailey decided she wanted to check out the new little creature too....she is not as interested in Owen as she was Payton...I guess she already knows what is happening this time! She has carried on life as usual pretty easily.
It was so nice to be home and start getting settled. The biggest problem on my post c-section belly is our stairs and our extra tall bed. I had forgotten how challenging they were in the first week at home. We were blessed to have our family around to help us get settled, help with Payton, help with cleaning and especially to help with cooking!

I think Bailey is wondering if the kennel is big enough for her and BOTH boys!! :)
