Wishing life had a PAUSE button!

My sweet baby Owen, you are already one week old!  One week doesn't seem to long when you think of a lifespan but as I sit here and think about it these past 7 days have flown by in the blink of an eye!  It seems like yesterday we were making final plans for your arrival and now, already, one week has gone by since you arrived on June 16th!

It has been a great week.  Due to my c-section I really can't do too much other than care for you so, thats just what I've done.  I enjoyed having a little extra time to hold you and snuggle with you since I really can't do too many other household chores.  You started off a little slow with eating but you have picked up since arriving home.  You were so sleepy those first few days and everyone kept telling us that some babies sleep for several days and that eventually you would wake up...they were right!  Saturday night you finally started to have some good periods of wakefulness and we were able to enjoy looking at your little eyes.  You have a pretty good schedule - eating every 2 1/2 - 3 hours during the day and giving us about a 4 hour span with your night time feedings.

You have already started using the big green pacifier.  You love to suck and the doctor agreed it would be best to go ahead and give it to you....better than you sucking on my finger like you did for the first 5 days!

You love your moses basket and I love that you sleep right next to my bed in your basket every night.  You are just close enough for me to check on you as often as I need and to feed you easily and snuggle you right back up.

We swaddled your big brother tight for months.  You don't like to have your hands swaddled, so we swaddle you from your arms down and it is working perfectly so far.

You love your swing and get to use it two times a day at least.

We have gone for a walk every day since we got home.  You seem to like riding in the stroller as well.  I can't wait to use the new BOB with you and Payton.

Overall, you are a pretty happy, easy baby.  You cry when you are hungry and if you need a diaper change.  You fuss a little when we want to go to bed at night...but I think you just like to keep us awake a little longer.  You sleep well.  You eat well.  You sure do fill your diapers up too!

I wish the weeks would slow down but I know with each passing week you will become more and more special to us!
