Chapel Hill for the weekend

Once again, we hit the road and headed to Chapel Hill for the weekend.  This trip was packed full of activities all leading up to UNC v. Duke in the Dean Dome and Senior night.

We were very busy all weekend.  Friday we had lunch with Eric then Payton and I headed out shopping while Chad did a little work.  We stocked up on supplies for Payton's first birthday party.  We're ready now!  Friday night I attended a shower for Amy, Eric's fiance.  While I attended the shower, Chad and Kade had dinner with Payton.  Of course, they couldn't settle for a quick, easy dinner.  They headed off to the Angus Barn.  The Angus Barn is a nice steakhouse - so please picture the two of them enjoying their nice dinner with the little guy...how funny!  One of the hostess asked to hold Payton.  Chad reluctantly let her take him.  He was carried all over the restaurant - waving as people entered, smiling at servers, and taking a tour of the kitchen.  As they were bringing him back to the table, they wanted to give him a present.  They were attempting to give him a stuffed animal; however, he spotted a ball and after repeating "ball" a few times they gave him the ball instead.  Luckily, they had a cute story to help control my anger about being left out on a trip to the Angus Barn.

After dinner Payton stayed up late to play with CJ and Leslie who had arrived from New York.  He enjoyed walking all around Kade's table and playing for them.

Saturday was filled with more fun!  Payton and I had lunch at Top of the Hill with Jenny D. W. and Jenny H. E. This was the first time Payton and Jenny D. had been able to meet.  He was surprised with several new books and wooden letter blocks.  Thanks Jenny!  We've already started reading the new books!  After lunch, Grandma came to meet us.  Payton was off the spend the night with Grandma, Kim, Aubrey, and Evan.  He was in good hands!  They were excited to see him for the night.

We headed to the very hot UNC baseball game and then we headed to meet Holly for a "mini" baby shower. After gifts we headed to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Holly will be having baby Luke in about 4 weeks.  We are so excited!  It was GREAT to spend time with all the girls this weekend.  Even though only one of us lives in Chapel Hill, it made me miss Chapel Hill even more!  While Payton was with Grandma, we took advantage and headed out on Franklin Street. It was a nice night out in Chapel Hill with friends.  The night ended with Pokey Sticks!  Yum! Yum!

Sunday morning, we headed to pick Payton up from Kim's.  He had found some new toys to play with at her house - of course, one was a large UNC basketball.  He was a good boy for them.  I wish we could have visited a little longer but we had to get back to Chapel Hill to prepare for the big game....Payton's first UNC v. Duke game.  After lunch and a very brief nap it was time to head to the Dean Dome.

Go Heels!

Payton did daddy take a picture of you at the steak house? I don't believe he is as good as mommy with the camera and not missing anything! I am glad you all had a great week-end. Love you all!
