Chad and I both had Thursday off to spend the day with Payton. After an early morning work-out, we made our way to Portrait Innovations for Payton's 1 year pictures. I had his first pictures made when he was only 7 days old. The one year picture will complete his "wall of pictures" in his nursery. I have a collage on the way with 5 pictures - 7 days, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and now I have the 12 month picture. It is amazing to see how much he has changed. The middle picture on the wall is of Payton at 7 days - he now looks at that picture and says "baby."
We started with his Easter pictures. He has on his Easter outfit that Grandma bought for him - complete with his adorable white shoes!
Pictures proved to be a little more difficult than the other trips in the past year. He was really on the move in the studio on Thursday. He briefly stood with the block before dropping to his knees to chase after a ball.

Eventually, he would not let go of the ball. We did not bring this ball with us. It was a dirty, faded ball, that was in the corner of the room covered in dust. Payton found it and became very attached. He would scream when we would take it away. So, for this pose, he has the ball with him. Next time, I'll take a clean ball from our house to use in the pictures. Lesson learned! At least the blue ball matched his blue gingham birthday outfit.
Finally, it was time for the cake pictures. For those counting, this is cake #2. I debated about taking this cake for the pictures. In the end, I am SO happy that I decided to have these pictures made. They turned out so good! He didn't get too messy and he didn't even stain his outfit!
He starts to dig in - he even got it on his little toes!
How precious! Look at him licking his little fingers. Yummy!
