The big celebration!

Our focus this week is Payton's birthday party.  Each year, we have a big celebration with our family. This year, the majority of our guests will be arriving on Thursday.  I am thankful they will have an extra day here with us but must admit my anxiety is starting to rise....they will be here on Thursday hours before I get off work.  Everything will have to be ready Wednesday night.

We have dinner reservations on Thursday night at a local, southern restaurant.  I know it will be a big hit with everyone.  We will most likely head downtown on Friday to do a little touring and exploring.  On Friday night, we have dinner reservations at California Dreaming...this is a bit of a conflict due to the fact that the Heels will be playing late Friday afternoon.

On Saturday, we will all head out to Payton's T-ball game and hopefully we will be able to head out to the beach a little after the game.  We spent a few hours on the beach last year and everyone really enjoyed it...adults and kids!  I hope the weather will cooperate with my plans.

Saturday afternoon we will have our first official "rock star" party.  We'll be enjoying BBQ, cake and ice cream....mainly BBQ because Chad gave up red meat for lent....but, it doesn't hurt that it is my favorite food!!  I've still got big plans for my little rock star's birthday cake.  I hope it all comes together just as I have it pictured in my head.  We will make homemade ice cream....not sure on the flavor yet...but it is sure to be delicious.  One thing is certain the Webb's and White's know a little something about homemade ice cream.  I'm sure we'll spend the afternoon playing the washers game and have a friendly Washers Tournament - the 4th annual Washers Tournament.  Not sure who will win, but I've got a good idea who will come in last place (they always do!).

On Sunday, most of our family will head back to NC.  We will be very sad to see them go!
Sunday afternoon Payton is having a party to celebrate with his friends.  The Rock Star theme has come together perfectly (special thanks to Lindsey who found plates, napkins and decor at a great deal!).  Payton gets more excited each day when I tell him that another of his friends is going to be able to come celebrate with him.

Payton is really excited about turning 4 and about having his family come to town.  He is counting down the days, literally, and each day this week tells me how many days are left before his family arrives.  I am always a little stressed when we have a large group coming into town - I want everyone to have a great time and I want to make sure I've covered all the details ahead of time - but, I've tried to make this as stress free as possible and I hope that we can all sit back, relax and have a GREAT time making some wonderful memories with our family.
