It is that time of year - ACC tournament time. As a loyal Tar Heel fan, I share my coach's beliefs on the outcome of the ACC tournament. It is great if we win (especially if we beat Duke along the way) but, if we don't make it to the Championship game on Sunday, I won't shed too many tears - that will give us an extra day to stay healthy and rest up as we prepare for the more important tournament.
Our television has been tuned to ESPN 2 since 11:30 today. The Heels beat the Terps in the 1st game. John Henson (aka Miss Rachel) injured his wrist and we are hopeful for a quick recovery...by tip off tomorrow would be nice!!
For the second game, I decided to pull for the Pack...and they pulled it out. This results in a Saturday semi-final matchup between the Heels and the Wolfpack. Again, I really don't care if we win the whole tournament or not, but for the sake of bragging rights I hope we can pull off our 3rd win of the year tomorrow. Tip off is at 1:00.....you won't have to search too hard to find my family....we'll be here planted in front of the TV.
I just watched the end of the Va Tech vs. Duke game. Unfortunately, the Blue Devils won. It was a low scoring game with minimal excitement but a win either way. Next up, Miami vs. Florida State. I'm picking Florida State.
I'm going to go ahead and pick a UNC vs. Duke final on Sunday afternoon. If UNC and Duke actually meet on Sunday afternoon, I make no predictions on the outcome. It will be a tough game for sure! Best 2 out of 3....and, I sure hope we end up on top!
Following the conclusion of the ACC tournament on Sunday, we'll stay planted on the couch to watch all of the Selection Sunday shows. Chad's phone will buzz with excitement....and, I guarantee, no matter where we land, we will get the most difficult bracket....this seems to happen to us every.single.year! Just ask Chad (and Kade and Johnny and CJ and Eric and anyone else Chad happens to talk to between next Sunday and April 2nd)! The committee is always tough on the Heels (I don't think this is true, but my husband really does!).
Following Selection Sunday, we'll gear up for an exciting run in the tournament - and, one thing is for certain, I hope the Heels will continue to win right through April 2nd. Once March Madness starts, it is win or go home. Play hard, play smart, play together....see you in New Orleans.
Too early....ehhhh, maybe, but this is our life for the next four weekends. We plan for nothing less and we hope the Heels have big dreams this year! My prediction for the Final Four - UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse. Wowza! How crazy would that be! At least Johnny and Hilary would both be there (though, that didn't end up so well in 2008....luckily, sweet little P had just entered this world and we suffered through that disaster from the comfort of our couch...the same ones we'll be enjoying this weekend!).
Go HEELS! Win and advance, lose and go home!
Big day for the Webb's tomorrow - Payton has his first ever T-Ball game tomorrow morning. Payton is beyond excited! Following the game, we'll rush over to a bowling birthday party. Payton has never been bowling so I'm sure this will be lots of fun for all. We may have to leave the party promptly at 12:45 to guarantee our spots on the couch for the Heels vs. NCSU game at 1 o'clock. The rest of our Saturday seems fairly uneventful. We do have to "spring" forward this weekend. While the time change is never easy on the kids (or their Mommy who thrives on her sleep and hates to give up an entire hour!), I am really looking forward to longer days and more time outside in the evenings when we get home from work. Spring is in the air and I'm lovin' it!
Ok Saturday...make me proud....a T-Ball win, a Heel's win and a Duke loss would make this world a better place (my world anyway!).
