Rain, Rain, Go away!

It is indeed a rainy day at our house!  We've got a busy family day lined up and we aren't letting the rain get in our way.  We played outside this morning before it started raining, did a little laundry, loaded up the entire family and headed to the grocery store, made it back home and I'm in the middle of whipping up a new recipe for a deep dish chicken pot pie.  I'm making one dish to take to a friend who has just had a baby and another for us to try out tonight.  It should be delicious...it is loaded full of veggies with a homemade crust on top.  I'm also trying out a new icing recipe that I'm hoping to use for Payton's birthday cake.  I've never worked with fondant before so I definitely need to try it out before I plan to use it on the big day.  I'm using a marshmallow fondant recipe...we'll see how it goes!

Of course, the most important event of this day is the Carolina vs. Duke game - our second match-up of the season.  We are playing at Duke and I'm certain it will be a close game.  If we win, I'll probably mention it tomorrow.  If we loose, we'll we won't discuss it again.

Today happens to be Eric's birthday - Eric is one of our best friends, one of my oldest friends, and the Godfather for our kids.  He works for the Heels and other than his family's well being, the outcome of the Duke vs. Carolina is the most important thing in his life.  I hope the Heels can pull it off for his birthday....it would be a great way to celebrate!  Happy Birthday HOOTS!
