...the presents...and more cake....

Finally, the birthday boy got to open his presents.  We are very thankful to each of our family members for traveling down for the party and for continuing to spoil our kids rotten with such awesome gifts!

This year, I worked really hard to explain to Payton that before you open the actual present, you should try to find a card, open the card and see who the present is from.  He did a great job with this!  I'm sure as a 4 year old its no easy task to delay the gratification of the gift long enough to open the card.  He even impressed the crowd by figuring out the first letter of the name signed on the card and trying to match that up with those who were in the room.  He got a few of them right!
Addie watches as he opens his 1st card and pesent
Cool dude!  Cool sunglasses from Aunt Moe and Uncle Alf
Wwwooowww!!!  My 1st set of baseball cards from Meme and Pawpaw!
Digging in!
His 1st real basketball from Dalton, Lynn and Michael...and we've already been dribbling all over the place :)
Spiderman lunchbox!

Addie and Payton in a mound of tissue paper!
Ummm....is this my very own Fresh Beat Band CD?!?!?  Daddy, we can listen to this in your car!  Woo hoo!!
What could be in this great big box from Grandma and Grandpa?

Payton's very own bee box!  Grandpa made this special for Payton and had a bee hive on the way to fill the box and start making honey!  The best part of this present - the bee box is going to live at Grandpa's house and he will look after the hive until Payton is old enough to help out!  Thanks Grandpa!  We can't wait to taste Payton's Home Grown Honey :)

My sweet family.....we're all Rock Stars for a day!
Following the presents, we enjoyed the cake!
Payton seems to be dreaming about a piece of that big cake!

Make a wish!
This one is for my Papaw Joe - who helped me perfect the art of taking candles out of the cake....if you angle the candle just a little, you can actually scoop a little icing off with the candle...then lick the candle, just like Payton is doing here!  The older you are, the more candles you have and the more icing you get!  Payton loves to lick the candles!

Let's eat!

Owen skipped cakes so he could play with the car

Silly boys!
Sweet boys!
